CAMP LEJEUNE—Simon Dorsey has been named as Lejeune High School’s head football coach and is at work at the position, according to a report in the Jacksonville Daily News.
Dorsey, who retired as a master sergeant after a 26-year career in the Marines, had four tours of duty in Iraq and two in Afghanistan He had been an assistant coach and head junior varsity coach at Lejeune.
Dorsey replaces Darryl Schwartz, who has retired. The Devilpups were 0-11 a year ago after posting a 13-2 mark and getting to the Eastern Regional finals in 2013.
