TYRO—West Davidson High School didn’t have to look far for its new head baseball coach.

         Jason Lemley has been named the head coach at West Davidson after nine years as assistant coach.  Lemley will take over for Jerry Walser, who resigned but will stay on at the school as a teacher and assistant football coach.

         West posted a 21-3 mark this spring and made it to the third round of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association state 2-A playoffs.

         Lemley is just the third head coach in baseball at the school in the last 23 years.
