GREENSBORO—Phil Legnetti, a former coach at Page High School,  died on Wednesday after a lengthy battle with cancer, according to the Greensboro News and Record.

      Legnetti, age 66, formerly coached cross country as well as track and field at Page while teaching chemistry and other science courses. .   He was diagnosed about three years ago with cancer.

      He was a graduate of Clemson University, which he attended on a track scholarship.  

      Visitation will be held today ( Monday, August 10)  from 7:00 until 9:00 pm, at Forbis & Dick, Guilford College location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at noon on Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.Memorial gifts may be sent to Beacon Place, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.
