MOORESVILLE— Andy Sparks has been named the new women’s basketball coach at Mooresville High School, according to media reports including the Statesville Record and Landmark.

Sparks will teach social studies at Mooresville and will also serve as an assistant football coach while coaching track during the spring season.

Sparks, who graduated from Mooresville High in 2000, has coached at East Burke for the past four years. He replaces Melanie Allen, who was the head coach last season at Mooresville as the Blue Devils posted a 5-17 record.
