BURLINGTON—After several days of delay due to inclement weather, the final North Carolina High School Athletic Association state dual team tennis championship will be held on Wednesday.

            The 2-A championship will be played starting at 3 p.m. at the Burlington Tennis Center, as the Durham North Carolina School of Science and Math takes on Lake Norman Charter.

            Lake Norman Charter and Salisbury finally completed their Western Regional final on Tuesday afternoon, with Lake Norman Charter winning 5-1 to advance to the championship round.

            Lake Norman Charter, the defending state 2-A champion, is currently 17-0 while Salisbury ended its season 15-2. Lake Norman Charter beat NCSSM in last year's final 5-2.

            The other three championships were held on Sunday, one day late due to rain, with Bishop McGuinness, Waxhaw Marvin Ridge and Cary Panther Creek earning state titles.
