CHAPEL HILL, NC. – The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) announced a pilot program on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, with Wanamaker Corporation, creator of the NCHSAA Golf app and iWanamaker golf event management software. The NCHSAA Golf app, powered by iWanamaker, is a robust and scalable golf event management platform designed specifically for high school golf. iWanamaker and the NCHSAA Golf app will be the online event management, player rosters, live scoring, and rankings hub for NCHSAA Golf. The iWanamaker platform will be the event management software for all NCHSAA pilot program participating schools for regular and postseason tournaments, advancements, and state-tournament qualifying. This relationship begins with the upcoming 2023 NCHSAA Golf season.
Through its proven Golf Tournament Management Platform (iWanamaker and associated native apps), the platform will also provide athletic directors, coaches, and student-athletes free access to schedules, live leaderboards, player scorecards, rankings and more. Spectators can purchase a Pass to access content and a portion of the Pass revenue is shared by iWanamaker with the member schools during regular season. In postseason play, a portion of Pass revenues will be utlized to offset regional and state golf championship expenses while the remaining funds will be shared between member schools participating in postseason golf play.
“We are excited to pilot the iWanamaker platform,” said NCHSAA Commissioner Que Tucker. “This will ensure fans, parents, student-athletes, and school officials receive real-time results as they support the best high school student-athletes in America during regular and postseason golf events.”
Wanamaker Corporation, the pioneer of online secure scoring for high school golf, has long served multiple high school state associations. The NCHSAA joins 23 states, thousands of schools, and governing bodies already using Wanamaker Corp technologies to streamline golf tournament setup, player registration, secure scoring, rankings, and data management.
“We are excited to collaborate with the NCHSAA to bring online secure scoring, accurate golfer rankings, and increased scoring integrity to all members of the North Carolina high school golf community,” Wanamaker Corporation CEO Doyle Heisler said. “North Carolina has a rich history of producing many prominent golfers, and together with the NCHSAA, we are excited to help increase awareness and grow the sport across the state.”
