NEW ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
AT FUQUAY-VARINA
FUQUAY-VARINA— James Mountford has been selected as the new athletic directors at Fuquay-Varina High School, according to the Raleigh News and Observer.
Mountford, who is a 1995 Fuquay-Varina graduate, has coached both men’s and women’s soccer at the school for the last seven seasons but will be giving up those duties to become athletic director, as Bruce Hemphill is retiring. Todd Dowler, the current junior varsity soccer coach, will be the interim varsity coach.
Mountford previously had a soccer coaching stint at Rocky Mount before coming to Fuquay.
