RALEIGH— Hal Wertich has been named as the women’s head basketball coach at Leesville Road High School, according to various media reports.

Wertich has been out of coaching for the last eight years, working for Sportek Events. Before that he served as athletic director at Chapel Hill High School.

Wertich does have extensive experience as a head coach in both Florida and Illinois, before he got involved in athletic administration. He was head coach at Urbana High in Illinois for 10 years and also served as head coach at Lakeland and St. Lucie High Schools in Florida.
