WEEK 9 | Students from North and South Rowan Earn Performance of the Week Awards

CHAPEL HILL— Each week two athletes in North Carolina High School Athletic Association competition are selected for this award from nominations received from coaches, media, and school administrators. 

Rymer, a senior on the South Rowan Volleyball Team led the Raiders to a 3-0 record for the week.  In the 3 games, Rymer posted 68 kills, 50 assists, 37 digs, and 10 aces.  She hit .633, .639, and .677 respectively in wins over Mt. Pleasant, Central Davidson, and Salisbury.

Wilson, a senior on the North Rowan Football Team rushed 11 times for 304 yards and 6 touchdowns while adding a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.  His 7-touchdown performance is a Rowan County record, and his 304 rushing yards set a new school record.    

Weekly recipients will be recognized on the NCHSAA Website and social media pages. They will also be honored at a banquet for all recipients from this year in April. The deadline for nominations is each Monday at 5 p.m through the online form that can be found here.
