CHAPEL HILL – The North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) presented a special recognition, the Membership Service Award, to Chiquana Dancy at the NCHSAA's Annual Meeting on May 2, 2019 at the Dean E. Smith Center. The award is a special recognition, given only as warranted at the discretion of the Commissioner, to a member of the NCHSAA Staff who has served the members and students of the NCHSAA with excellence and distinction.
Chiquana Dancy has served the members and students of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association for 14 years. She has had a hand in Sports and Championships as well as leadership in Student Services Program over the course of her tenure. Chiquana provides valuable direction and guidance to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee or SAAC. She works tremendously hard on the Student Leadership Conference and Student-Athlete Summer Institute (SASI) Programs annually. She is a leader in student services programs across the nation, contributing her expertise and passion to the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) Student Services Division as a member of that committee and leads a group of students from North Carolina to the annual National Student Leadership Conference.
The proud Tarboro Viking alum is dedicated to inclusion, regularly giving back through service projects and fundraising for Special Olympics and is a tireless promoter of Unified Sports Programs. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for Special Olympics of North Carolina.

Her dedication to Unified Sports programs and tireless efforts to promote well-rounded growth of the student-athlete are a tremendous benefit to the member schools and students of the Association.
