2020-2021 2AA FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
RALEIGH, NC – Salisbury won the school’s fourth football State Championship by rushing past St. Pauls 42-14. Hornets QB Vance Honeycutt collected the game’s MVP honors scoring four touchdowns on the ground and throwing for another in the game. Read more.

CHAPEL HILL, NC – Lance Patterson was a man on a mission. The junior wide receiver and defensive back from Mount Tabor was always around the football, offensively and defensively, leading the Spartans past Cleveland 24-16 on his way to being named the 3AA Football Championship Most Valuable Player and claiming the school’s first football State Championship. 2020-2021 3A FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
RALEIGH, NC – Charlotte Catholic held off Havelock 14-7 to win the school’s fourth straight 3A State Championship. The Cougars did all of their offensive damage in the first half, but it was the Cougar defense that shined holding Havelock to just 201 yards of total offense in the game. Read more.
2020-2021 4A FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
CHAPEL HILL, NC – The Grimsley Whirlies defense came to play, forcing four turnovers and limiting Cardinal Gibbons to 250 yards of total offense on their way to a 28-8 victory in the 4A State Championship Game. The Whirlies collected the program’s first State Championship since the name of the school changed from Greensboro High to Grimsley in 1962. Read more.

2020-2021 1A FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
RALEIGH, NC – The Murphy Bulldogs defense came up with the stops they needed, holding Northside-Pinetown to just six first downs and seven points on their way to winning the 1A State Championship 14-7. The win gave the Bulldogs their tenth Football State Championship in school history, and earning the all-time winningest head football coach in North Carolina history, David Gentry, his ninth state title. 2020-2021 1AA FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP RECAP
CHAPEL HILL, NC – In the third straight State Championship Game matchup between the two schools, the Tarboro ground game & speed proved too much for East Surry to overcome, helping the Vikings chew up the clock and race to a 25-7 victory. The win landed Tarboro their seventh State Championship all time and secured Head Coach Jeff Craddock’s sixth state title. Read more.

CHAPEL HILL, NC – Reidsville rolled past Mountain Heritage 35-6 in the 2A State Championship Game, claiming the school’s NCHSAA record 19th State Football Championship. Kyle Pinnix and the Rams offense used their multiple weapons and formations to make the Cougars defend the width of the field, capitalizing on holes with speed, on their way to 407 yards of total offense.
