Northeast Guilford Baseball Coach Retires

NORTHEAST GUILFORD BASEBALL COACH LAWING RETIRES

Veteran Northeast Guilford High School baseball coach David Lawing has retired from teaching, according to the Greensboro News and Record.

As a result, he has also resigned as the head baseball coach, although he will continue to assist the program. Brad White, who has been an assistant at Northeast for the last 13 seasons, will be the new head coach.

Lawing spent all of his 32 years in teaching and coaching at Northeast and led the Rams to the NCHSAA class 3-A baseball championship series in 2011, with Belmont South Point winning the title. His teams won 10 conference championships during his 15 years as head coach.

The Rams were 30-3 during that title run and posted a 21-8 mark during the 2012 season, getting to the fourth round of the state playoffs.
