PINE LAKE PREP AND WASHINGTON EARN TITLES IN 1A/2A SWIMMING & DIVING STATE CHAMPIONSHIP

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

CARY – Pine Lake Preparatory women’s team wins the state 1A/2A title with 326 points over Carrboro who had 239 points. Washington men’s earned their title with 236.5 score and Lincoln Charter coming in at a close second with 217.5.

Alyssa Marsh from Pine Lake Preparatory had a big night. Marsh broke her own record from 2014 for the women’s 100 butterfly of 53:72 tonight with a time of 53:23 and, for the third year in a row, was selected the women's Most Outstanding Swimmer.

Most Outstanding Swimmer Awards:

Women: Alyssa Marsh from Pine Lake Preparatory – 50 Free & 100 Butterfly Champion
Men: Will Macmillan from Carrboro – 200 Free & 100 Butterfly Champion

Sportsmanship Awards:

Women: Olivia Rasbornik from Pine Lake Preparatory and Leah Abrams from Carrboro
Men: Eric Lovenberg from Washington and Lucas Haskins from Lincoln Charter
