Week 4: Sept. 19th – Sept. 24th
Each week two athletes in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association are selected for the Performance of the Week Award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. These athletes are nominated by coaches, media, and school administrators for their outstanding performance.
The OrthroCarolina Performers of the Week for week three of NCHSAA competition go to Folger Boaz of East Surry High School and Kevon Daniels of West Brunswick High School.
Boaz a Senior on the East Surry Football Team put on an offense clinic Friday night against North Surry. This week Boaz went 30-39 passing for 300 yards and 7 touchdowns. He also rushed 3 times for 76 yards. East Surry came out on top Friday night 63-24.
Daniels a stud on the West Brunswick High School football team leads them to a 56-49 victory over Ashley High School. Daniels rushed the ball 15 times for 156 yards and 5 touchdowns and had 7 catches for 133 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also completed 1 pass for 53 yards and a touchdown for 7 total touchdowns on the night. Daniels led West Brunswick to their first win of the season Friday night.
