Each week two athletes in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association are selected for the Performance of the Week Award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. These athletes are nominated by coaches, media, and school administrators for their outstanding performance.
The OrthroCarolina Performers of the Week for week five of NCHSAA competition go to Elijah Tillery of Draughn High School and Maddy Linares of Green Level High School.
Tillery the Junior QB for the Draughn Wildcats has led the team to a 6 and 1 start with an impressive win over state runner up Mitchell High School last Thursday. During that game Tillery 12n-16 for 171 and a passing touchdown, while adding another 66 yards on the ground and another TD. Through the first 7 games of the season Tillery has 16 passing touchdowns to go along with 7 rushing touchdowns, while tailing up 1,551 yards of total offense.
Maddy a Senior on the Green Level Golf Team shot a 33 (-2) at Eagle Ridge Golf Course this past week. The University of Lynchburg commit currently is holding an average of 35.7 this season and has medaled three different times already this season. Maddy is currently leading her conference and has posted the lowest scores of the season never shooting above 38.
