ROANOKE RAPIDS—The Roanoke Rapids High School softball team put itself into the NCHSAA Record Book with a performance listing from a game on Tuesday.

Roanoke Rapids blasted seven home runs in a 19-0 victory over Franklinton in a game halted after three and a half innings.

Sierra Hearp, Hunter Martin and Brooke Vincent hit two homers apiece for the winners while Brianna Allen had one.

The state home run record in a single game is eight, held by North Surry.
