Austin Fleming joined the NCHSAA staff in September 2024 and is currently the Director of Sports and Championships. Before his time with the NCHSAA, Fleming worked for the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the athletic department as an Account Executive in the Ticket Office. He also spent two years teaching and coaching at South Johnston High School and two years teaching, coaching, and serving as the athletic director at East Surry High School.
Fleming, a native of King, North Carolina, attended West Stokes High School, where he played football & basketball for four years, including being part of the school’s first football state championship in 2011 and being named the Most Valuable Player. After graduating from West Stokes High School in 2012, he attended Campbell University. He played football from the 2013 season to the 2016 season, earning All-Conference Honorable Mention honors in his junior and senior years, along with being voted captain in his senior year. He graduated with a degree in Sports Management with a minor in Communications in the Spring of 2017.
Outside of work, Fleming enjoys spending time with his wife (Katelyn) and son (Keegan). They enjoy traveling, being outdoors and going to college and professional sporting events.
