Unique Honor Goes To Former Swansboro Soccer Player

A former Swansboro High School soccer player has received a unique honor for his post-high school career, according to the Jacksonville Daily News.

Ricky Mobley, who is now 42 years old, was a standout soccer player at the Onslow County school and graduated in 1988. Now he is a member of the Milwaukee Wave Hall of Fame—the Wave is a member of the Major Indoor Soccer League.

After graduating from Swansboro, Mobley attended Campbell University, where he started four years as a defender. After his graduation from Campbell, he played indoor soccer from 1992 through ’99 as a member of the Wave.

Mobley now is the head soccer coach at NCAA Division III Carroll University, located just outside of Milwaukee. He has been the head coach there for the last 14 years.
