Each week two athletes in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association are selected for the Performance of the Week Award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. These athletes are nominated by coaches, media, and school administrators for their outstanding performance.
The OrthoCarolina Performers of the Week for week 27 of NCHSAA competition are Breonna Roaf from Terry Sanford and Brayden Patrick from Kings Mountain.
Roaf, a junior basketball player for the Bulldogs, led Terry Sanford to two big victories in the state playoffs last week with her outstanding performances on the court. In the third round, Breonna helped her team win with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists, and 10 steals, and in the fourth round, she had a triple-double with 18 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. The Bulldogs are 25-5 as they advance to the Regional Championships where they will face off against the South Central Falcons.
Patrick, a senior baseball player from Kings Mountain, helped lead the Mountaineers to two victories this week. Brayden worked seven scoreless innings last week and allowed just one hit while striking out 20 batters. At the plate he went 4-for-5 with a double and three RBIs
