Each week two athletes in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association are selected for the Performance of the Week Award, Powered by OrthoCarolina.
These athletes are nominated by coaches, media and school administrators for their outstanding performance.
The OrthoCarolina Performers of the Week for week 30 of NCHSAA competition are Taylor Waters from Eastern Wayne and Seth Evans from Hunt.
Waters, a junior forward for the Warriors, netted her 40th goal of the year in Eastern Wayne’s 3-2 win over Princeton last week. She scored twice and added an assist to help her team remain undefeated on the season and win their conference opener.
Evans, a junior baseball player at Hunt, led the Warriors in their 6-0 win over Southern Nash with a complete game no-hitter. Evans pitching performance was dominant as he went seven innings and had five strikeouts. Seth has pitched in four games this season and has only allowed one run, leaving his ERA at 0.37. He’s also batting .412 so far this year.
