WEEK 4 | 2023-24 ORTHOCAROLINA PERFORMANCE OF THE WEEK

Each week two athletes in the North Carolina High School Athletic Association are selected for the Performance of the Week Award, Powered by OrthoCarolina. These athletes are nominated by coaches, media and school administrators for their outstanding performance.

The OrthoCarolina Performers of the Week for week four of the NCHSAA competition are Ellie Spear from John A. Holmes High School and Noel Biju from Triangle Math & Science Academy.

Spear, a senior tennis player, went 3-0 in singles play last week, including a 6-2, 3-6 (10-8) win against Anna Medlin. This was a rematch of the 2A East Regional Final last season. She also picked up a doubles win.

The Aces are 11-1 on the year and currently in first place in the Northeastern Coastal 2A/3A Conference.

Biju, a sophomore forward, scored six goals and added an assist in three matches for Triangle Math & Science Academy. He found the net five times in the conference opener against Southern Wake Academy and once more against River Mill. He assisted on a goal against North Carolina School of Science and Math.

The five-goal output helped the Tigers to their first win of the fall.
