White Oak Selects New Head Football Coach

JACKSONVILLE— White Oak High School has announced that Chad Ashley has been selected as its new head football coach.

Ashley will be coming from New Hanover in Wilmington, where he has served as an assistant football coach for 10 seasons, including the past five as defensive coordinator. He also coached baseball at New Hanover.

Ashley played college football at Campbellsville University in Kentucky, where he graduated in 1998. Prior to his stint at New Hanover, he taught and coached both football amd baseball at North Brunswick in 2001-02. He also coached one year at his high school alma mater, Windsor Forest High School in Savannah, Georgia, back in 2000.

The new head football coach will teach weight training at White Oak. He takes over a White Oak football program that went 5-7 this season and fell in the first round of the 3A playoffs.
