SHALLOTTE—Kelly Williamson has been named as the interim women’s basketball coach at West Brunswick High School, according to a report in the Wilmington Star-News.

         Williamson replaces Mark Jones, who resigned reportedly due to some health issues before West Brunswick participated in a holiday basketball tournament.

         Williamson and current West Brunswick athletic director Jimmy Fletcher had coached football together previously, and Williamson is currently head football coach at Latta High School in South Carolina but also had been serving as an assistant in women’s basketball at West Brunswick.
